Postpartum Doula · Northern Utah
Postpartum is more than a transition — it's a transformation.
Helping families bloom after birth. I'm a DONA International certified postpartum doula candidate serving Northern Utah — here to hold space for you, support your recovery, and help you find your rhythm after birth.
About Me
Hi, I'm Laura — and I'm so glad you're here.
I'm Laura, a PCD (DONA) Candidate doing business as Prickly Pear Postpartum Care. I became a postpartum doula because I believe every new parent deserves a village — and I want to be part of yours. Supporting the journey between birth and becoming is my calling.
I provide nonjudgmental & non-medical, physical, emotional & educational family support after the birth of your baby. I'm here to help with self-care recovery, newborn care, sibling integration, lactation support, infant feeding support, and light household support — snacks, meals, grocery runs, infant laundry, tidying, and more. I create space for rest, recovery, and connection so your family can find its rhythm.

How I can support you
Every family is different, and so is every postpartum journey. I'm here to help you find your rhythm after birth — whether you need a steady presence through the night, a helping hand during the day, or something entirely your own.
Intake Appointment
We start with a thorough in-home intake visit so I can get to know your family, your wishes, and how to best support you. This 2–4 hour appointment sets the foundation for your care and is held before or shortly after your baby arrives.
$100 flat fee
2–4 hours, in your home
Day Support
A full daytime visit focused on you and your baby — newborn care, feeding guidance, sibling support, light meals, errands, tidying, and a calm knowledgeable presence while you rest and recover.
$20/hour
Standard 9–5 or a flexible 3–5 hour visit
After School Support
Perfect for families with older children. I’m here during the after-school hours to help with sibling care and integration, so you can focus on your newborn and your own recovery without the afternoon juggle.
$20/hour
2pm – 6pm, or until another caregiver arrives
Evening Support
Wind-down support for the whole family — helping with the dinner hour, bath time, sibling bedtime routines, and newborn care so you can ease into the evening with less stress and more rest.
$20/hour
6pm until "bedtime", around 10 or 11pm
Overnight Support
I arrive at 10pm and stay through 8am — feeding, soothing, diapering, and caring for your baby so you can sleep and heal. The flat rate accounts for the full day of recovery I need afterward.
$500 per overnight shift
Ten hours from 10pm - 8am
Weekend & Holiday Support
Need support on a weekend or holiday? I’m here for those days too — same attentive, hands-on care for you and your baby, with a rate that reflects the time away from my own family.
$35/hour
Mornings, afternoons, or evenings
Cancellation Policy
A non-refundable retainer of 50% of total contracted hours holds your doula's availability and serves as a credit toward your care. Once care is underway, half a shift's wages are assessed for cancellations without rescheduling. Please give as much notice as possible if your needs change.Payment
Payment is due at the end of each week by cash, Venmo, or check made payable to your doula.Reach Me
